A9, House of Bruar
Top class tartan, tweed and cashmere here at the House of Bruar.
Well worth a browse round this emporium to the Huntin’ and Shootin’ fraternity. Deer-stalkers, Ghillies walking sticks, plus-fours… Barbour jackets and waxed cotton leg-warmers… More cashmere sweaters than you can shake a stick at… Its all here, and its fun to wander round and browse.
They also do a reasonable coffee and cake, though you don’t stop here for that, you stop here to see where the toffs go to buy their britches.
10 miles North of Pitlochry, here is a Google map of where House of Bruar is. Its easy to find, right next to the A9, well signposted.
(Often full of coach parties in the summer, it is a regular stop for them on the Tourist Trail.)
There is a nice walk up to the Falls of Bruar from here. Steep in places, but well maintained with gravel underfoot and plenty hand-rails where you need them.
